AN ACT CONCERNING THE DISCLOSURE OF FACILITY FEES BY HOSPITAL-AFFILIATED CLINICS AND HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 19a of the general statutes be amended to require clinics and health care providers that are (1) (A) located no farther than two hundred fifty yards from the main building of a hospital licensed by the Department of Public Health, or (B) owned by a hospital licensed by said department, and (2) primarily engaged in providing diagnostic and therapeutic care, including, but not limited to, acquisition of medical histories, physical examinations, assessments of health status and treatment monitoring, to prominently display, in locations easily accessible to and visible by patients, including such clinics' or practitioners' Internet web site, a statement detailing whether such clinics or practitioners charge a facility fee that may result in higher out-of-pocket expenses for a patient.
Statement of Purpose:
To require the disclosure of facility fees by clinics and health care providers affiliated with hospitals licensed by the Department of Public Health.
