26 | 26 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: |

28 | 28 | | Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) The Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the Insurance Department, shall study the effectiveness of the following: |

30 | 30 | | (1) Requiring insurance coverage of all contraceptive drugs, devices and other products approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration, including, but not limited to, over-the-counter contraceptives; |

32 | 32 | | (2) Prohibiting employers in Connecticut that offer prescription drug coverage from excluding such coverage for prescription contraceptive methods approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration, except religious employers, as defined in section 38a-536, of the general statutes, for which certain prescription contraceptive methods are contrary to such employer's bona fide religious tenets; |

34 | 34 | | (3) Requiring religious employers for which certain prescription methods are contrary to such employer's bona fide religious tenets to disclose to their employees that they do not provide insurance coverage for such contraceptive methods; and |

36 | 36 | | (4) Requiring closely held for-profit employers to disclose to all current and prospective employees any coverage limitations derived from the beliefs of the employers' principal shareholders for services other than prescription contraceptive methods. |

38 | 38 | | (b) Not later than January 1, 2016, the Commissioner of Public Health shall report on such study, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public health and insurance. |
