524 AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF A GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM.

726 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

9-Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2015) (a) A person is guilty of electronic stalking when such person recklessly causes another person to reasonably fear for his or her physical safety by wilfully and repeatedly using a global positioning system or similar electronic monitoring system to remotely determine or track the position or movement of such other person.
28+Section 1. Section 53a-181e of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2015):

11-(b) Electronic stalking is a class B misdemeanor.
30+(a) A person is guilty of stalking in the third degree when [he] such person recklessly causes another person to reasonably fear for his or her physical safety by wilfully and repeatedly following, either in person or by means of an electronic device, or lying in wait for such other person.
