AN ACT GRANTING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH THE AUTHORITY TO ORDER A HOSPITAL OR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER TO SUBMIT A CLAIM TO ITS INSURER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 19a of the general statutes be amended to permit the Department of Public Health to order a hospital or health care provider to report and submit any information to its insurer regarding any accident, injury or claim when it is determined that the hospital or health care provider is at fault, regardless of when such determination is made.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide the Department of Public Health with the authority to order a hospital or health care provider to turn a claim over to its insurer.
