AN ACT DESIGNATING A WEEK IN OCTOBER AS MALE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WEEK.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 10-29a of the general statutes is amended by adding subdivision (69) as follows (Effective from passage):

(NEW) (69) Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week. The Governor shall proclaim the third week in October of each year to be Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week to heighten public awareness of the associated presentation and available treatments for male breast cancer. Suitable exercises shall be held in the State Capitol and elsewhere as the Governor designates for the observance of the week.
