AN ACT CONCERNING AN EXPANSION OF THE CARE 4 KIDS PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 17b-749 of the general statutes be amended to (1) extend applicant eligibility in the child care subsidy program from eight months to one year, (2) allow parents or caretakers who are attending institutes of higher education to be eligible for child care subsidies, and (3) allow information regarding participants in the child care subsidy program to be shared with other government-sponsored programs in which the participants may be enrolled.

Statement of Purpose: 

To lessen the difficulties parents face when applying for the Care 4 Kids program.
