AN ACT REQUIRING GENERAL ASSEMBLY REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY RATE INCREASES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 16 of the general statutes be amended to require General Assembly review and approval of any Public Utilities Regulatory Authority order or decision permitting a public service company rate increase exceeding ten per cent.
Statement of Purpose:
To require legislative oversight of substantial utility rate increases.
