AN ACT PROVIDING A HARDSHIP EXEMPTION FROM JURY SERVICE TO CERTAIN SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 51-217a of the general statutes be amended to provide that a court shall have authority to excuse a small business owner who is a sole proprietor from jury service.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide a hardship exemption from jury service to a sole proprietor of a small business.
