AN ACT CONCERNING COST-OF-LIVING INCREASES FOR NURSING HOMES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 17b-340 of the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Social Services to provide (1) an annual cost of living increase in rates set for nursing homes that is equal to or greater than the cost-of-living increase for Social Security beneficiaries, and (2) rate increases for payment to utilities and other costs not under the control of nursing home owners.
Statement of Purpose:
To require that state rates of payment to nursing homes reflect actual costs for the nursing homes to provide care.
