2828 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

3030 That chapter 319i of the general statutes be amended to increase the age to eighteen at which a person may consent to inpatient mental health treatment.

3434 To increase the age of consent for inpatient mental health treatment to reflect the evolving understanding of child emotional and decision-making development and to ensure parents are notified of their children's serious mental health issues so that they may be involved in treatment decisions.
