26 | 26 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

28 | 28 | That section 17a-6b of the general statutes be amended to (1) create a Connecticut Juvenile Training School board to replace the current advisory group, the members of which shall be appointed by the Governor and legislative leaders, (2) expand the jurisdiction of such board to include oversight of the Pueblo Unit for girls, (3) empower such board to have access to the Connecticut Juvenile Training School and the Pueblo Unit for girls and all Department of Children and Families records relating to such facilities, (4) empower such board to make recommendations to the Department of Children and Families regarding improvements to such facilities, (5) require such board to annually report to the committees on judiciary, human services and children on its findings and recommendations and to hold a public hearing regarding such findings and recommendations. | |
