AN ACT CONCERNING NOTIFICATION TO BOARDS OF EDUCATION OF THE PLACEMENT OF CERTAIN CHILDREN IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Children and Families and the State Board of Education to notify the local or regional board of education for the school district in which a child who is in the custody of the Commissioner of Children and Families has been placed in such school district.
Statement of Purpose:
To facilitate town budgeting and planning for the accommodation of students who are in the custody of the Commissioner of Children and Families and to improve communication between DCF and boards of education.
