AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDING FOR CERTAIN AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAMS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the sum of five million dollars be appropriated to the Department of Education, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, for the purpose of expanding after-school and summer programs offered at schools by school staff or outside providers and that include project-based learning and activities that align with school curriculum and increase health, learning and school connectedness. Statement of Purpose: To provide funding for certain after-school and summer programs that provide enrichment to students.
