AN ACT REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT IN TRAFFIC INCIDENT MANAGEMENT ZONES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 14-212a of the general statutes be amended to authorize the Commissioner of Transportation, Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection or local traffic authority to reduce the speed limit in a traffic incident management zone to fifteen miles per hour.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect emergency response personnel at the scene of an emergency from oncoming traffic by authorizing the reduction of the speed limit to fifteen miles per hour.
