AN ACT CONCERNING AN EXPANSION OF BUS SERVICE IN WATERBURY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the Department of Transportation expand the Lakewood Road and Wolcott Street bus service for the Connecticut Transit Waterbury division.
Statement of Purpose:
To extend bus service to the under-served Lakewood Road and Wolcott Street area and in so doing to provide access to employment, shopping destinations and elderly and low-income housing. The service will provide improved passenger amenities by relieving overcrowding on two of the busiest bus routes in the Waterbury Connecticut Transit division and improving pedestrian safety.
