2424 AN ACT REQUIRING TOW TRUCK OPERATORS TO CLEAN ROAD DEBRIS LEFT AFTER AN ACCIDENT.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That the general statutes be amended to require all tow truck operators, who remove a motor vehicle from the scene of an accident, to remove and dispose of all glass, metal and other debris that has been cast upon the public highways as a result of such accident. The tow truck operator shall follow the direction of the police or fire officer at the scene and shall not depart the scene until all debris has been removed and the operator has been released by the officer. If the area is not properly cleaned, the police may require the operator to return to the scene of the accident to complete cleaning up.
