2424 AN ACT ENSURING CHILD PLACEMENT DECISIONS THAT REFLECT THE BEST INTERESTS OF A CHILD.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That section 46b-140 of the general statutes be amended to provide the court, after consultation with the Department of Children and Families, may order that a child convicted as delinquent be placed in the care of an appropriate institution or agency, including placement in an out-of-state program or facility if no comparable program or facility is available in the state and such placement is found by the court to be in the best interests of the child.
