AN ACT REPEALING THE LIMITATION ON THE AMOUNT CERTAIN TOWNS MAY REDUCE THEIR MINIMUM BUDGET REQUIREMENT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (d) of section 10-262i of the general statutes be amended to repeal the limitation on the amount that a town may reduce its budgeted appropriation for education when such town experiences a decline in its resident student population.

Statement of Purpose: 

To allow towns with declining student populations to achieve proportional savings.
