26 | 26 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

28 | 28 | That chapter 969 of the general statutes be amended to (1) provide that low-risk sex offenders not be placed on the publicly available sex offender registry, (2) give judges discretion, within certain parameters, for medium and high-risk offenders concerning the amount of time such person is required to maintain such registration, (3) provide that an individualized risk assessment be performed prior to sentencing and that such assessment be made available to the sentencing judge, (4) permit the judge to consider mitigating factors, and (5) allow for a petition process for the review of placement on the registry. | |
