2424 AN ACT REQUIRING EQUITY IMPACT STATEMENTS FOR CERTAIN BILLS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That chapter 16 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require the preparation of an equity impact statement concerning the disparate impact of a bill that has had a public hearing on communities within the state, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, disability and low income, at the request of a member of the General Assembly, and (2) require the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to the judiciary to make recommendations for an amendment to the joint rules of the House of Representatives and the Senate concerning the content of and procedure for such statements.
