AN ACT PROHIBITING A PERSON FOUND NOT GUILTY OF MURDER OR MANSLAUGHTER BY REASON OF A MENTAL DEFECT FROM INHERITING FROM THE HOMICIDE VICTIM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 45a-447 of the general statutes be amended to provide that a person found not guilty of murder or manslaughter by reason of a mental defect shall not be entitled to receive an inheritance from the homicide victim.

Statement of Purpose: 

To prevent a person found not guilty of murder or manslaughter by reason of a mental defect from inheriting from the homicide victim.
