AN ACT AUTHORIZING MOORINGS ON OYSTER BEDS FOR WATERFRONT RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES AND YACHT CLUBS AND MARINAS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (e) of section 26-157a of the general statutes be amended to authorize the placing of moorings on oyster beds without the permission of the owner or lessee of such oyster beds provided any such mooring is in place only between April first and October thirtieth of each year and such moorings are either (1) noncommercial, residential moorings that are associated with waterfront residential properties, or (2) moorings in mooring fields that were in existence prior to October 1, 1986 and associated with or managed by a yacht club, marina or similar entity.
Statement of Purpose:
To permit certain moorings to be placed on oyster beds without the permission of the owner or lessee of such beds.
