AN ACT CONCERNING ELIGIBILITY OF VETERANS FOR THE RENTERS REBATE PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 12-170d of the general statutes be amended to explicitly apply to veterans having a disability rating of one hundred per cent, as determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, regardless of such veterans' Social Security disability status.

Statement of Purpose:

To eliminate the requirement that one hundred per cent disabled veterans must also be deemed eligible to receive permanent total disability benefits under Social Security in order to receive the rental assistance provided to certain elderly and disabled persons.
