AN ACT CONCERNING FACILITY FEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) ban facility fees for health care procedures in group 1 of the Medicare ambulatory payment classifications, (2) limit facility fees to one hundred dollars, and (3) require insurers to cover facility fees as medical expenses.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect consumers from exorbitant "facility fees" by prohibiting certain facility fees, capping any allowable fees and requiring insurance coverage of such fees.
