Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2015) The Commissioner of Public Health shall study the provision of emergency veterinary care. Not later than January 1, 2016, the Commissioner of Public Health shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public health concerning the results of the study. Such report shall include, but not be limited to: (1) A description of costs associated with the provision of emergency veterinary care; and (2) recommendations on establishing a program to provide funds for emergency veterinary care.
