2424 AN ACT PROHIBITING FELONS FROM MANAGING STATE ASSISTANCE FUNDS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2015) On and after October 1, 2015, the Commissioner of Social Services shall adopt policies and procedures to (1) prohibit the hiring of any person for a position at the Department of Social Services that involves administering, managing or providing public assistance funds who has been convicted of a felony in the five years prior to applying for such position, and (2) to subject all applicants for such positions to state and national criminal history records checks in accordance with section 29-17a of the general statutes.
