AN ACT CONCERNING BOATING SAFETY ON CANDLEWOOD LAKE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2016) On the waters of Candlewood Lake, including Squantz Pond, no person shall operate a vessel in excess of fifteen miles per hour from eleven o'clock p.m. to sunrise. The provisions of this section may be enforced by any law enforcement officer or lake patrolman authorized to enforce the boating regulations of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Any fine or penalty imposed as a result of a violation of the provisions of this section shall be in accordance with the provisions of said regulations.

Statement of Purpose: 

To reduce the overnight speed limit on Candlewood Lake.
