1224 AN ACT CONCERNING PUBLIC FINANCING FOR JUDGE OF PROBATE CANDIDATES.

1426 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

16-Section 1. (Effective from passage) The State Elections Enforcement Commission shall, in consultation with the Connecticut Probate Assembly, as described in section 45a-90 of the general statutes, study the feasibility of extending public financing under the Citizens' Elections Program to candidates for nomination or election to the district office of judge of probate. Not later than January 15, 2018, the commission shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any legislation the commission deems necessary to apply the provisions of chapter 157 of the general statutes to such candidates, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to elections, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
