AN ACT STUDYING THE LIABILITY OF EMPLOYERS FOR HOSPITAL SERVICES IN WORKERS' COMPENSATION CASES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Labor Commissioner, in consultation with the chairman of the Workers' Compensation Commission, shall conduct a study regarding the effect of the amendments to section 31-294d of the general statutes incorporated pursuant to section 459 of public act 15-5 of the June special session on the liability of employers for hospital services in workers' compensation cases. Such study shall include, but need not be limited to, an exploration of current practices concerning employers' liability for hospital services in workers' compensation cases and any relevant litigation that may affect such practices. Not later than January 15, 2017, the Labor Commissioner shall report, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to labor on the results of such study and shall include in such report any recommendations for administrative or legislative action necessary to address the findings of such study.
