AN ACT REQUIRING BOARDS OF EDUCATION TO CONDUCT PERIODIC TESTING OF SCHOOL WATER SUPPLIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 169 of the general statutes be amended to require local and regional boards of education and regional educational service centers to submit water samples to the Department of Public Health for the purpose of conducting periodic testing of lead contamination in school potable water sources and systems in school buildings.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require school districts to monitor and maintain safe drinking water in school buildings.
