AN ACT CONCERNING AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) allow the use of autonomous vehicles for testing purposes, and (2) require the Department of Motor Vehicles to adopt regulations concerning the use of such vehicles and to study, in consultation with the Department of Rehabilitative Services, how the use of such vehicles could increase mobility for persons with disabilities.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide for the testing of autonomous vehicles in the state and to encourage Connecticut to keep pace with the advances in autonomous vehicle technology.
