| 26 | 26 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

| 28 | 28 | That chapter 184c of the general statutes be amended to require the Office of Early Childhood to (1) develop a proposed early childhood educator compensation schedule for employees of early childhood education programs (A) that accept state funds for infant, toddler and preschool spaces associated with such programs' child care program or school readiness program, and (B) that meet the applicable staff qualifications requirement described in section 10-16p of the general statutes, and (2) submit a report that includes (A) recommendations for legislation relating to the implementation of the proposed early childhood educator compensation schedule, (B) an estimate of the cost of implementing the proposed early childhood educator compensation schedule, (C) an analysis of the effect on the number of available preschool seats as a result of the implementation of the proposed early childhood educator compensation schedule, and (D) an explanation of how the proposed early childhood educator compensation schedule will be included in any quality rating and improvement system developed by the office, pursuant to subdivision (15) of subsection (b) of section 10-500 of the general statutes. | |
