Introduced by:

REP. HARDING, 107th Dist.

AN ACT CONCERNING MODERNIZATION OF THE PREVAILING WAGE LAWS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to increase the threshold amount for public works projects required to abide by prevailing wage laws to one million dollars for both new construction and remodeling work and to index the threshold for all municipal construction projects to the inflation rate so that it may be adjusted annually.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide financial relief to the state and municipalities by immediately increasing the threshold amount for public works projects required to pay prevailing wages and to ensure that the threshold for prevailing wage laws keeps pace with inflation in the future.
