AN ACT CONCERNING STUDENT MEMBERSHIP ON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10a-103 of the general statutes be amended to permit the election to the Board of Trustees for The University of Connecticut of an alternate student member who shall (1) be elected by the undergraduate students of the schools and colleges of the university, (2) participate in meetings of the board, (3) be assigned to the same subcommittees of the board as the undergraduate student member, and (4) vote in place of the undergraduate student member only when the undergraduate student member (A) is absent at the time the vote is taken, or (B) has vacated his or her position on the board, until such time as the vacancy has been filled.
Statement of Purpose:
To modernize the number of elected members of the Board of Trustees for The University of Connecticut and the processes for electing them.
