AN ACT CONCERNING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY AT A CROSSWALK.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That subsection (c) of section 14-300 of the general statutes be amended to require motor vehicle operators to grant the right-of-way to pedestrians who step to the curb rather than require pedestrians to step off of the curb.

Statement of Purpose: 

To promote the safety of pedestrians by requiring motor vehicle operators to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians who step to the curb at a crosswalk.
