AN ACT MAKING THE DIVISION OF STATE POLICE A SEPARATE AGENCY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to remove the Division of State Police from the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection and create the State Police as a separate budgeted agency with the state police commander as the administrative head of the agency.

Statement of Purpose: 

To remove the Division of State Police from the management of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection.
