AN ACT REQUIRING INSPECTIONS OF CRANE OR HOISTING EQUIPMENT OPERATORS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That (1) section 29-224b of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Administrative Services visit, at least once each calendar year, the site where each crane or hoisting equipment owner or operator is operating a crane or hoisting equipment during such operation to ensure such owner or operator holds a valid license or apprentice's certificate and that such operation is in accordance with the provisions of chapter 539 of the general statutes and any regulations adopted thereunder, and (2) subsection (c) of section 29-225 of the general statutes be amended to increase the civil penalty on any crane or hoisting equipment owner or operator who violates any provision of said chapter and regulations. Statement of Purpose: To require the Department of Administrative Services to inspect crane and hoisting equipment owners or operators at least once a year and to increase the penalties when such owners or operators violate the provisions of chapter 539 of the general statutes.
