AN ACT CONCERNING THE CALCULATION OF RETIREMENT INCOME FOR NEWLY HIRED STATE EMPLOYEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require, for any state employee hired on or after the effective date of this act, that such employee's retirement income be calculated on a cost-averaging basis over the last ten years of the employee's state employment, irrespective of interagency transfers.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce state employee pension costs.
