AN ACT JOINING CONNECTICUT WITH OTHER STATES IN THE NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE INTERSTATE COMPACT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to (1) join Connecticut with other states that have already adopted the Agreement Among the States to Elect the President by National Popular Vote, and (2) when a sufficient number of states representing two hundred seventy Electoral College votes enter into said agreement, bind Connecticut in casting its electoral votes for the presidential candidate that wins the national popular vote.

Statement of Purpose: 

To join Connecticut with other states in the adoption of the interstate compact to elect the President of the United States by national popular vote.
