AN ACT PROHIBITING SMOKING AT REHABILITATION PROGRAMS FOR ALCOHOL-DEPENDENT OR DRUG-DEPENDENT PERSONS ADMITTED TO SUCH PROGRAMS UPON THEIR RELEASE FROM A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit smoking at state-operated rehabilitation programs for alcohol-dependent or drug-dependent persons who are admitted into such a program upon their release from a correctional facility. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To eliminate the possibility of people becoming addicted to cigarettes when they are discharged from a correctional facility and admitted to an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program.
