AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF BUDGET RESERVE FUNDS AND UNAPPROPRIATED SURPLUS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that funds in the Budget Reserve Fund and any unappropriated surplus be used to pay the interest due on amounts the state borrows from the federal government for unemployment compensation benefits.

Statement of Purpose: 

To eliminate future special assessments that may be imposed on businesses to pay the interest due on amounts the state borrows from the federal government for unemployment compensation benefits.
