AN ACT INCREASING THE PERSONAL EXEMPTION UNDER THE PERSONAL INCOME TAX FOR SINGLE-FILERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 229 of the general statutes be amended to phase in an increase in the personal exemption under the personal income tax for unmarried individuals.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce the higher tax liability imposed under the personal income tax on unmarried individuals.
