AN ACT EXTENDING THE DEADLINE FOR VOTER REGISTRATION ON ACCOUNT OF FEDERAL DECLARATION OF DISASTER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 9-17a of the general statutes be amended to provide that in the event of a declaration of disaster in the state by the federal government on or after the tenth day preceding the last regular session for admission of electors prior to an election, such session shall be moved to a later day before such election.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide for an extension of the voter registration deadline in the event of a federal declaration of disaster in the state within ten days of such deadline.
