AN ACT PROTECTING THE IDENTITY OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 9 of the general statutes be amended to withhold from public disclosure the voter registration information of any elector who (1) lives in the same dwelling unit as any law enforcement officer residing in the town served by such officer, and (2) shares the same last name with such officer.
Statement of Purpose:
To suppress the publication of information that may potentially place law enforcement families at risk of harm.
