2424 AN ACT EXEMPTING CERTAIN FUEL-EFFICIENT VEHICLES FROM THE MINIMUM VEHICLE OCCUPANCY REQUIREMENTS OF HIGH-OCCUPANCY VEHICLE LANES.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That the general statutes be amended to (1) establish a program exempting certain fuel-efficient vehicles from the minimum vehicle occupancy requirements for operation of a motor vehicle in the state's high-occupancy vehicle lanes, provided the operator of any such fuel-efficient vehicle pays an annual user fee of twenty-five dollars to participate in such program, and (2) provide that any funds collected by the operation of such program shall be dedicated toward maintenance of the state's transportation infrastructure.
