AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE HONORARY RANK OF CONNECTICUT COMMODORE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 27 of the general statutes be amended to (1) establish the honorary rank of Connecticut Commodore within the state naval militia for purposes of recognizing exceptional support for the state's military and veteran communities, and (2) provide that the Governor, in consultation with the president pro tempore of the Senate, the speaker of the House of Representatives and the chairpersons of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, may award such honorary rank to an individual having demonstrated such support.
Statement of Purpose:
To recognize individuals who have shown exceptional support for the state's military and veteran communities.
