28 | 28 | That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to establish a state-wide preschool through high school literacy commission and that the membership of the commission shall include, but not be limited to, (1) a representative from each district reference group, as classified by the Department of Education, (2) a person with expertise in literacy in special education, (3) a person with expertise in English as a second language or English language learners, (4) a person with expertise in school readiness or preschool, and (5) at least one representative from the Department of Education. | |
