2424 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A PILOT PROGRAM CREATING PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN CERTAIN FITNESS FACILITIES AND PUBLIC COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN THE STATE.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

28-Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2017) For the fiscal years ending June 30, 2018, and June 30, 2019, the Board of Regents for Higher Education shall, within available appropriations, establish a pilot program that offers an adaptive physical education internship at fitness facilities that provide adaptive physical education services to children with autism spectrum disorder. Students enrolled in a program of teacher preparation at Central Connecticut State University and Southern Connecticut State University shall be eligible to apply for the internship. Said universities shall partner with any such fitness facilities and shall award, upon completion of the internship, course credit toward a student's completion of such program of teacher preparation.
