AN ACT CONCERNING THE CONSIDERATION OF COURT-ORDERED CHILD CARE SUPPORT IN ELIGIBILITY DETERMINATIONS FOR STATE-FINANCED ASSISTANCE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Social Services to consider the amount of court-ordered child care support payments a child is entitled to and the ability of his or her parents to make support payments before determining the amount a child is eligible for under state-financed assistance programs.

Statement of Purpose: 

To take child care support contributions into consideration in providing state-financed assistance to children.
