AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF IMPLEMENTING SCREENING, BRIEF INTERVENTION AND REFERRAL TO TREATMENT FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROBLEMS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a task force to study the feasibility of implementing "Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment", an evidence-based practice used to identify, reduce and prevent problematic use, abuse and dependence on alcohol and drugs.

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish a task force to study the feasibility of the implementation of SBIRT.
